Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann 17

My advice; never take the writers of Tengn Toppa Gurren Lagann to Las Vegas, because they’ll have lost every penny to their name before the days out. They just love to gamble.

SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU HAVENT SEEN EPISODE 17

Seven years after episode 15 took place; Episode 17 starts off by introducing you to Kamina City, where humans are free to live as they wish above ground, without worrying anymore about war and death. Characters have grown and become more mature, and some have grown closer together, while others have grown closer apart. Many changes have occurred technologically and within the once young heroes we watched battle, fighting for their right as humans. Sure, this sounds like a nice little new plot to follow, but I’ve got one simple question for the writers, “What the hell are you doing?!”

"COME BACCKKKKK!!!!11111"

I’ve expressed my distaste for sudden time skips in my post on the first episode of Zero no Tsukaima Season 2, but back then I was talking about time lapses that took place between seasons, this is a huge time lapse that took place between EPISODES, and most of us didn’t like what we saw. Watching episode 8 of Tengen made me wonder if the writers were actually sane, watching episode 17; I feel the same question resurfacing. They had an amazing plot, some of the best characters I’ve seen, and enough morals and life lessons to rival mother goose, but they keep throwing perfection to the wind and seeing if it’ll come back. They seem to have a rare fetish in messing with something good, and making fans of the show bite their nails wondering if the show will be as great as it was last time. Tengen, while still one of my favorite series, was never the same again after episode 8, they managed to keep it good, but it lost a key aspect that could never be replaced, those who have seen 8 know without a doubt, what I’m talking about. We all sat there, our jaws wide open, wondering if they were serious, wondering if they really made such a stupid decision as we thought they did… and they did. Now I sit here feeling a sense of Déjà vu, wondering if they’re really as stupid as I think they are. They took my favorite series, held it out in front of my face, and drowned it a large bucket of “Going Too Far”. I can tell you already, Tengen will never be the same, its plot has changed, its characters have changed and this may be the one change that Tengen won’t be able to jump back from.

Darry ended up as a hawt loli soldier, just like I always knew shed be.

Some of you may or may not have noticed a slight difference in my writing style today, taking note it’s a tad more precise than usual, I’ll have you know that I just recently came back from watching “Sicko”, Directed by Michael Moore, and may have temporarily have been infected with his way of speaking. Its only temporary, I assure you. Yet I do recommend to those who haven’t seen Sicko yet, to do so. It’s very informative movie (as all of Michael’s movies are) on the Health Insurance of America and how it simply fails in comparison to that of Canada, England, France and even Cuba. With that said, I hope to start on my post on Claymore 17 soon, that is if I’m not too busy reading the new Harry Potter book, which I’m unusually addicted to at the moment, Ciao for niao.
