Rosario + Vampire Episode 1-3

Promotional Poster Showing the Main 3 Girls and One Unintroduced One

Well I finally got Word working again, I ignored the activation message for too long and it just stopped working and I had no internet connection to uh... ACQUIRE a serial, but thats all fixed now, so onto reviews. I’m trying to think of a way to make posts every once in a while without restraining myself to only making episodic posts because that simply doesn’t work. Maybe I’ll limit myself to only reviewing the first and last episode of animes, while doing complete season and gaming reviews on the side because they only need one post and aren’t much trouble, that might work. It’ll certainly be alot less hassle and when there is a post it’ll be high quality and quite long. I’ll have to consider this a bit more. In the meantime though I’ll do another post on a currently airing anime… how about… Rosario + Vampire?

Totally Not Creepy and Suspicious at ALL~

Rosario is the story of a kid named Tsukune who fails at life and everything, including school. He failed his last year of school and couldn’t graduate. While he was moping around his dad was off being drunk and followed a priest who dropped a slip of paper, of course the father did the right thing and picked it up and ran away and it turns out the paper was some kind of admission paper into some private academy, so everyone was happy and Tsukune starts to attend the school. Apparently this school's called Yougai academy, which totally isn’t suspicious at all, and as Tsukune finds out in first class, is a school for demons. So now the completely unimaginative story begins of how a normal kid has to go to school with monsters and how females completely out of his league randomly fall for him in what I call the “Harem effect”.

Dude Gets Huged, Groped and Grinded Like 20 Times An Episode... Bastard...

Rosario isn’t great, let me say that first, but at the same time it’s not bad. The constant fan-service and quirky moments are the only two things keeping this anime afloat. The story has been done half a million times, the main character is a complete wuss and now we’ve got the main three genres of anime women lined up for him; the shy one, the eccentric one and the loli (so that it’ll appeal to ALL the otakus). On the other hand we’ve got panty shots left and right, passable comedy and… more panty shots. Those three-… two things are the only things keeping me from dropping it and I imagine it’s the same reason for most of the viewers besides pure boredom.

Wuh... Rosario...? Where...? O_O

I guess I’ll go into characters a little more and when I say characters I mean the girls, because Tsukune’s such a pansy he’s not worth mentioning. There’s the main girl Moka, who’s actually a vampire, except she can walk in the sun and wears a cross on her chest… turns out the cross aka a ROSARIO is some sort of seal that makes sure her second more evil persona comes out, which it always does at the end of every episode. Moka’s the shy girl and the most likely one Tsukune will get with at the end of the series. Then there’s the second girl Kurumu, who’s succubus, for those who don’t know succubus is a demon that takes on the appearance of a beautiful woman and draws energy from men using sex, then uses the fangs on her vagina to rip the dudes dick off then eat him alive, but in this anime it’s a demon that can control men and force them into submission with her special gaze and huge tits, so don’t worry. Kurumu plays the part as the more exocentric girl in the anime and by exocentric I mean slutty. Third there’s Yukari the witch, who does witch-like things and is a loli. She’s also bisexual for Moka, which is always good. She’s the innocent one who used to get picked on and has no chance of actually getting with Tsukune. There’s more girls coming in the later episodes, but those are all the girls there are now.

Mean Guy Show Up, Mean Guy Turns Into Demon, Mean Guy Gets Pwned.
Thats The Entire Anime In A Nutshell

The music’s fitting, the animations okay and the voice actors are well chosen. Rosario is basically mediocre incarnate but with animes with a similar plot, it’s not hard to choose which ones better. Also in comparison to other recently airing animes I’m watching it’s probably the one I’m least in a hurry to download episodes for. Overall it’s alright, watch it if you’ve nothing better to do or simply want something to watch while you wait for the next episode of Clannad to be released, it’ll keep you entertained for the 24 minutes, if just barely. If you’re looking for a good harem anime, it’s probably a good bet, but I’m enjoying They Are My Noble Masters a lot more (hint hint).

Why Do All The Hawt Chicks In Anime Fall For The Wussssss? D:

Hoho, my closing statements, how I enjoy writing these for no specific reason. I promised Mushishi last post and I still plan on reviewing it, I spent all night finishing it, truly an amazing anime, I just couldnt stop watching it, you can expect that review by tomorrow actually. I also randomly downloaded Darker Then Black (Haven’t even started it), so that’ll show up in a review sometime in the future, next will probably be They Are My Noble Masters, will it stand to Hayate no Gotoku? Find out next time on Nakadashi Kibou!
