Konata represents the Otaku in all of us.Ah, my constant refreshing of TokyoTosho can come to an end (until tomorrow), my addiction has finally been settled, for Lucky Star 14 has finally been subbed by AFK. I suppose I enjoyed this one more since it took relatively longer than usual to come out, like when you feed a starving man porridge; itll probably be the best thing hes ever tasted. I sat through the entire episode with my eyes glued to the monitor like Ruben Studdard looking at a dessert display case. Weve been apart for too long my darling Konata, far too long. This episode was a “step” in the world of Lucky Star, weve spent 13 episodes with no real change in the story of characters. You could watch the first episode and then episode 12 and not miss a beat. This episode finally changed that by introducing two new characters into the series, will they make a good addition to the already awesome female cast we had before? I think so. First off, we get to meet the young Yutaka, cousin of Konata. Shes small, young and shy. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the moe meter she gets a… *points at meter* 8 out of 10! (Applause). Besides Yutaka, we also get to meet her new friend whos name is still unsure, but even at first glance its easy to tell shes going to be a Nagato-ish character; silent, smart, no expression but enough so that it seems moe rather then robotish. (She only appeared twice during the entire episode, so she cant be measured on the moe meter just yet u.u)"Welcome to the Moe Gang, we even have out own jackets"Besides the introduction of the two new characters, this episode was like all the other ones, and that will never be a bad thing. Konata disses Kagami, Kagami disses Konata, Tsukasa sits between them listening to the random harshness they throw at each other with a look of confusion or surprise, Konata plays several games and says something that both the twins will never fully understand (I understand you Konata!) and random topics arise out of the blue. But if it wasn’t for all those things, it just wouldn’t feel like Lucky Star.I don’t know what inspired the writers to make these ending credits, but they definitely deserve a raise and several more grams of whatever the hell they’re smoking. Minoru standing by the ocean at sunset singing Hare Hare Yukai and showing off his deadly wushu moves… brilliant. Almost as awesome as the last one, which was so random I ended up spitting ramen all over my monitor (Which makes a surprisingly good glass cleaner). All and all an awesome episode. For those who are unaware, koerarenai kabe means "unpassable wall"Now that I finally posted on Lucky Star, Ill be able to post on “Mr. Despair” next. Im also downloading the complete seasons of Genshiken and Death Note. So ill be able to do a complete anime review on them once I finish getting them and watch all of the episodes, just thought Id give you a little heads up, ciao.
